Project
The concept of ecosystem services documents the materials and benefits that humans derive from ecosystems. Not only does it bridge various academic disciplines, it also provides an interface between ecosystems and the human arena.
The knowledge dissipation project Experiencing Ecosystem Services, funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), is based on the research findings of FWF projects → "VITAL" and → "REGARDS". The themed interactive trail was designed and realised at the → Department of Ecology at the University of Innsbruck and involved the scientists from the FWF projects, with support from the tourist office TVB Stubai, the natopia association, the Office of the Tyrolean Environmental Ombudsman, the Office of Public Relations at the University of Innsbruck and the protected area management of the Ruhegebiet Kalkkögel.
We thank Stefan Mayr, Georg Leitinger, Erich Tasser, Julia Seeber, Sigrid Hechensteiner and Magdalena Stiftinger for their essential contributions to this project!
